Natural Fabrics That Make Any Outfit Look Expensive

Hemp is becoming increasingly popular due to its very sustainable quality among all clothing manufacturers.

Fabrics that may look expensive but won't break the bank.

Satin

Unlike silk, which is a raw material, satin is a type of fabric. Although satin can be made from silk, it often contains a combination of other fabrics such as nylon, viscose, and/or polyester. Satin generally has a glossy and matte side.

Charmeuse, for example, is a very popular satin that is not made from silk. It is a synthetic fabric made from a finely woven material that includes polyester.

If you don't have the money to do without real silk, some type of satin may be a suitable alternative; try going for a matte finish, as very shiny satin can look cheap.

Houndstooth

The houndstooth is cotton with a two-tone textile pattern, often in black and white, characterized by interrupted squares or abstract four-pointed shapes named for their resemblance to a dog's tooth. We love houndstooth because its chunky nature makes it look high-quality, and it's more expensive than it is.

Camel wool

Camels produce longer fibres than sheep, resulting in a more durable end product. Mongolian camels are known to produce even longer fibres than their southern-born counterparts, as they live in colder climates, making them a more durable material.

Camel wool fibres are typically finer than most merino wool, resulting in a softer, more delicate feel. Many high-end coats are made from camel wool.

Denim

Denim is a strong cotton twill fabric that is commonly used to make clothing such as jeans by the denim garment manufacturer. Today, denim is often mixed with polyester to prevent wrinkles and control shrinkage when washed.

An article by High Snobiety suggests that if you prefer instant comfort, look for a pair of denim that is 2-5% stretch (spandex). However, stretch fabrics wear out faster than jeans made from 100% cotton, which tend to be more durable.

Bubbling up - Velvet

Velvet has been almost completely omitted from this guide. Although velvet has long been considered one of the most luxurious fabrics on the market, it can sometimes appear sticky on clothing.

Velvet, which can be made from cotton or silk threads and gives it a slight sheen, is widely used to make curtains, upholstery, and accent pillows. When you come across a fabulous velvet garment, make sure it is not suede or velvet; that are similar in appearance but not as thick and rich as the original.
